Lundy Canyon Trail

From Hwy. 395 2 miles north of Mono Lake, turn at the road signed for Lundy Lake. Go past the lake on the north side, drive 2 miles to the trailhead. Begin walking at an information board, passing by beaver ponds at the foot of Mill Creek Falls. Walk up through a heavily wooded forest of pine and htmlen. The trail climbs steadily to a junction at 2 ½ miles. The right fork is a faint use trail from Lake Helen that heads toward Shamrock and Steelhead Lakes. Lake Helen is barren and windswept, Shamrock Lake with it's many islands is a beautiful destination. Steelhead Lake is also a beauty, with North Peak towering majestically above.

To reach Odell Lake, take the main trail to the left at the junction. Climb a talus slope to reach the rocky shore of Odell Lake at just under 3 miles. It is an easy hike to Lundy Pass and Hummingbird Lake just on the other side of the pass.
