Red Lake Trail

From Hwy. 395 in Big Pine, turn west on Crocker Street. Drive approximately 2 ½ miles to the McMurry Meadows Rd., turn left on this dirt road and left again at the fork in road.

Drive another 10 miles to the county road marked 10S01-A. Turn right at the first fork then go left on the county road marked 10S01. At the second fork, turn right. The trailhead sign is 2 ½ miles from the McMurry Meadows road turn off. The road is very rough, four wheel drive is needed.

Access is not available from Tinnemaha because of intervening private property with locked gates barring the road. The owner of the property asks that hikers do not trespass. This trail is not maintained and hikers should carry a topo map.
